Most people associate bodybuilding with men in their 20s and 30s. Edith Wilma Connor smashed this stereotype when she decided to start lifting weights at the age of 60. Her data processing job bored her, and she needed an outlet for all her pent-up energy. Weight lifting became more than a hobby. After a few years of lifting weights, Conner won a major bodybuilding competition in Las Vegas. She was eventually added to the Guinness Book of World Records for her bodybuilding skills, and she continues to lift weights to this day.

She went on to become the world’s oldest graduate. 

3. Edythe Kirchmaier

After her children gifted her a computer and a digital camera, Edythe Kirchmaier decided to join the digital age at the age of 95. She made a Facebook account and eventually accrued more than 30,000 friends. She became Facebook’s oldest user, and she was even featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show. When she wasn’t using her Facebook account, Kirchmaier enjoyed daily volunteer work. 

4. Geneva Eskrivge

Being diagnosed with cancer is never easy. However, when Geneva Eskrivge was informed of her diagnosis, she was inspired. She had spent her whole life dreaming of skydiving and decided her diagnosis provided the perfect opportunity. Instead of giving up, Eskrivge decided to jump out of a plane. She was 91 when she made her jump, making her one of the oldest people to skydive. After she crossed skydiving off her bucket list, she received plenty of local attention.
